Event Organizer Guide

The city is yours – let’s make it happen!

Helsinki is ready for action
Helsinki’s birthday will be celebrated again 12 June 2019. Hundreds of free events will be held throughout the city and its local districts, promising something for everyone.
Helsinki Day has become a city festival that offers lots to see and do for people of all ages. The city centre will be filled with people, music and events, but Helsinki Day will also be celebrated outside the centre in the city’s districts.

Event proposals for Helsinki Day are being accepted starting 1 February 2019
The City of Helsinki invite local residents to make the most of their city and to work together to create the programme for the next Helsinki Day.

Create your own programme and apply for a grant
We welcome all proposals for events that are free of charge and open to everyone on Helsinki Day. The registration of events starts 1 February 2019. Submit your proposal by 31 March 2019 at the latest. Submit your proposal here (notice that the form is available when the registration starts 1 February). The form is only in Finnish. Register on the site and use your individual username to update your application and event information when needed.

A jury comprising local residents will select grant recipients by 15 April 2019.
