Come celebrate Helsinki’s birthday at the Theatre Museum on Wednesday 12 June from 11am to 6pm! Admission to the museum is free of charge on Helsinki Day.
See and experience the museum’s main exhibitions Backstage, the Arkadia Theatre and the Theatre Attic, as well as the temporary exhibitions “Kivi kääntyy” and “Kokonainen Canth”.
Families with kids can also join in fun theatre orienteering tours. You will be given a map with checkpoints that you have to find. At each checkpoint there are tasks related to theatre and the exhibitions. You will need sharp eyes, good intuition and a bit of luck too!
Note: The Hyppy 2 theatre course will take place at the Arkadia Theatre until 2pm, so during the first half of the day you can try acting in the Backstage arena and puppet theatre in the Theatre Attic. The Arkadia Theatre will then be available from 2pm onwards.
Also open at Kaapelitehdas on Helsinki Day will be the Hotel and Restaurant Museum and the Finnish Museum of Photography.
